About Us

My name is Colby Ann Kreck, I was born in Eureka California in 1967. The Summer of Love I`ve been told. :o)

I have always had a hard time describing myself to others.
I am many things to many people so it depends on who you ask or what i am doing at the time.
I am a ~ Child of God ~ Daughter ~ Mother ~ Wife ~ Friend ~ Artist...

I have been an artist in one form or another for 25 years now and have very eclectic and whimsical tastes (my home is living proof of that!) I am blessed to be able to pursue my art while staying at home and loving on my children.

I began Acorn Cottage Crafts in 2005 as a way to help support my family after the birth of my second son. Because of my demanding job, for many years I have had little time for sewing or crafting.
After some serious soul searching and numbers crunching, my Dear Hubby and I decided we could make it on one salary and that my being home to care for our new bundle of joy was worth the loss of income.

Now because of my wonderful customers on eBay and the support and encouragement of a wonderful group of Artisic Ladies, I have decided to continue with my art and branch out with my own website and at some lovely local boutiques.

I strive to make quality items that I would love to have in my own home and follow my heart with my designs. My art at the moment is focused on dolls, but I also make rag quilts, whimsical folk art paintings, pincusions, aprons, country signs, and all sorts of lovely household needfuls. I am also developing a line of patterns based on my unique designs.

When you purchase any of my items my dearest wish is that it will bring you joy for many many years to come. :o)
